Known as the "invisible man", the Chinese performer Liu Bolin created in 2005 the famous ongoing series Hiding in the city that is still carried out today with ever-changing and highly relevant issues: from environmental pollution to the pitfalls of the consumer society, from social inequalities to thought control, every shot by Liu Bolin offers a reflection upon the existence of the contemporary man, whose the artist becomes "silent" spokesman. Painted by several assistants, the body of Liu Bolin, who wears a military uniform, becomes a landscape, a consumer product, even a learning tool, camouflaging himself into books and magazines as in this case.
