The World Cultures artwork is the result of a performance at MUDEC, the Museum of Cultures in Milan, and incorporates the theme of multicultural integration advocated in the Migrants project in 2015. As a backdrop, Liu Bolin chose among iconic pieces from the MUDEC Museum permanent collection, which come from Oceania, Africa, Europe, Asia, South America. In the background of the shot the artist has inserted some ancient "totem" of different eras, from different regions of the world. It can be seen that the colours of the works belong to the classical shades of every artifact of human culture. To fade his body into different objects created by the hand of a man means, for Liu Bolin, to reflect on interdependence and mutual influence between Man and Civilization.
