Galleria Gaburro presents the first exhibition in Italy by Iain Andrews (Birmingham, UK, 1974). The solo show Iain Andrews. Whispers from the Red Room, curated by Cesare Biasini Selvaggi, features over 30 paintings never displayed before, created for the occasion, and it will be open to visitors in the exhibition spaces of Milan, where it will remain open with free entrance from February 26 to May 30, 2026.
Andrews' painting was born from the artist's first-hand experience as an art therapist, working with abused children, transforming their traumatic stories into images that illustrate pain, loss, and resilience. This work with the most vulnerable is reflected in his personal research and it gives a concrete physicality and unique emotional depth to it. The paintings thus become spaces of expression and release, in which the violence of the real world is reinterpreted and transfigured through painting, offering the viewer the possibility of confronting both darkness and hope in a meditative and sensorial way.
