EMILIO ISGRÒ EXHIBITED IN SCUOLA SUPERIORE DELLA MAGISTRATURA

Yesterday, Monday 15 May, the President Sergio Mattarella inaugurated the new headquarters of the Scuola Superiore della Magistratura in Castel Capuano, Naples.

Maestro Emilio Isgrò chose this amazing place to exhibit unpublished artworks, part of the series Cancellazione dei Codici.

The exhibition, curated by Marco Bazzini and Cristina Mazzantini, was realized in collaboration with the publisher Giuffrè Francis Lefebvre and with the cooperation of Galleria Gaburro.

The artist worked on the Civil Code and the Penal Code following his best known artistic poetics, the cancellation.

The series of volumes was specially produced by the editors of Giuffrè Francis Lefebvre who worked closely with the artist who said:

“I deleted the Civil Code and the Penal Code because without words there is no law and without law there is no democracy. The first commitment of art is to discuss in a world that screams. ”

The works, which will be part of a catalogue published for the occasion (published by Lefebvre together with Skira), will remain visible for one year in the spaces of the new headquarters of the School.
