Fabio Giampietro, born in Milan in 1974, is an Italian artist renowned for his innovative fusion of traditional painting and digital technologies. Through a unique technique that involves subtracting oil paint from the canvas, Giampietro creates works that immerse the viewer in monumental urban scenes characterized by dizzying perspectives and dramatic atmospheres.

Among his most notable series, Metromorphosis explores the complexity of metropolitan life, while Techvisionaire celebrates visionary female figures in the field of technology. Giampietro is considered one of the pioneers of immersive art, having integrated virtual reality into his installations to bridge the tangible world with the metaverse.

His works have been exhibited in several prominent shows, including: Hyperplanes of Simultaneity at the Palazzo Reale in Milan in 2016, where he presented for the first time installations that combine painting and virtual reality; The Lift at the MEET Digital Culture Center in Milan in 2022, a site-specific immersive work that engaged the public in a journey to the boundaries of virtual reality; Ipotesi Metaverso at Palazzo Cipolla in Rome in 2023, an exhibition that explored emerging creative possibilities at the intersection of art and technology; Extension of Selves at Qintai Art Museum in Wuhan, a momentous event commemorating two significant milestones: the 20th anniversary of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Italy, and the 700th death anniversary of the legendary explorer Marco Polo. This exhibition, a collaborative curation by Lumen Studios stands not just as a significant cultural event but also as a landmark in the evolution of the global digital art industry.

His ability to fuse physical and digital worlds has earned him a prominent place in the contemporary art scene, with recognition both in Italy and internationally.
