Andrea Facco (Verona, 1973) is interested in bringing the observer into the picture, in a comparison between macro and micro-structures. Facco is interested in the interweaving of different levels of reproduction: on one hand it crosses the reality painted with visual worlds, paintings or photographic, that we can meet in reality; on the other vivisecting the surface of the painting (of a Titian, for example) challenging our perceptual abilities to transform our eye into a precision microscope.

He was born in Verona in 1973. He lives and works in Italy.
He has attended the Bologna’s Academy of fine Arts and he graduated with Concetto Pozzati in 2000.
In 2005 he was invited by Peter Weiermair, which was the Director of the Modern Art Gallery of Bologna, to attend at the exhibition Bologna Contemporanea, which shown the young talents in the international arena. In the same year he exhibited Room with a view in New York at the Grey Art Gallery – New York University Museum; after one year Escodentro at the Galleria Biagiotti Progetto Arte of Firenze; in 2008 Le cose che pensano in the same art gallery; and the culmination of a long stay in China in Chaoyang District, inaugurates exposure Waiting for Beijing, curated by Luca Beatrice, in Verona at the gallery Box Art, continuing to confirm through each of these solo shows that “the strategies of Fabian going beyond a simple narrative: in his pictures the artist reflects essentially conceptual modes of use of the image and clearly, aims to develop a critical knowledge “(Peter Weiermair).
The special trait of the Facco painting is that portrays itself. His art work is focused on the painting as subject and also as pictorial medium. Interpreting images that surround us in everyday life, create art jobs by adopting and adapting the heterogeneous pictorial means that emerge from its conceptual ideas.
In 2010 the art show Apparenti circostanze at the Galleria Biagiotti Progetto Arte of Florence, seemingly antithetical elements are alongside each other, walls, graffiti, votive images, advertising posters: is the idea of the flâneur, the artist that wandering procures images, to emphasize the metapictorial investigation of Andrea Facco.
Among the most recent solo exhibitions: Il Doppio del Gioco, curated by Peter Weiermair, Galleria Goethe, Bolzen, Italy (2013); Lo strano caso di Joan Mitchell, curated by Alberto Zanchetta, Museo d’Arte Contemporanea, Lissone (MB), Italy (2014) and Ignoto, curated by Daniela Ferrari, Alessandro Casciaro Art Gallery and Centro Culturale Trevi, Bolzen (2015).
In 2018 Andrea Facco took part in the group exhibition Animali Metallici at Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Trento and Rovereto (MART).
