Mario Schifano (Homs 1934– Rome 1998), together with the other artists of Piazza del Popolo in Rome like Franco Angeli and Tano Festa, represented a fundamental moment of Italian and European Pop Art. Omnivorous of images –coherent with the international climate of the Sixties and Seventies– he has crossed the barriers of painting and visual arts, encroaching on the film experimentation.
